Thai massage is a type of massage in Thai style that involves stretching and deep massage. This form of bodywork is usually performed on the floor, and the client wears comfortable clothes that allow for movement. No oils are used in Thai massage. It is known in Thailand as "nuat phaen boran" (Thai: นวดแผนโบราณ), literally, the ancient-manner massage. Most Thai people simply refer to Thai massage as "nuat phaen thai" (Thai: นวดแผนไทย)
Herbal Thai massage combines traditional Thai massage with heated herbal compresses. The compresses are filled with traditional aromatic Thai herbs like sweet basil, plai, kaffir lime, turmeric, camphor, etc. specifically combined to reduce pain and inflammation. This recipe of herbs is certified as an authentic Traditional Thai recipe, which when combined with heat therapy can greatly reduce tension, muscle cramps and fatigue. When steamed by the Therapist, they create a "body tea compress." The fragrant herbal preparation slows the mind and soothes the skin.
After a day with maybe too much sun, Aloe Vera is exactly what your skin needs. Aloe Vera gel contains over two hundred nutrients and different useful substances, as well as enzymes, minerals, vitamins, polysaccharides and amino acids. Aloe vera gel has been reported to have a protective effect against radiation damage to the skin. Following the administration of Aloe Vera gel, an antioxidant protein, metallothionein, is generated in the skin, which scavenges hydroxyl radicals and prevents suppression of superoxide dismutase and glutathione peroxidase in the skin. It reduces the production and release of skin keratinocyte-derived immunosuppressive cytokines such as interleukin-10 (IL-10) and hence prevents UV-induced suppression of delayed type hypersensitivity.
